  • Stough & Stough Architect’s core belief is that communities are better when many people are invested in their community. We also recognize that inexperience makes navigating the complex building process at minimum a big headache and at worst nearly impossible.

We empower new developers with the design knowledge and experience needed to make informed, confident decisions. We specialize in the challenges new developers face in the Toledo area so you don’t have to do this alone.

Together, we’ll keep your big idea from turning into a big mistake.

  • A nimble and responsive architectural firm, Stough and Stough Architects has experience and capabilities equal to larger firms. Through a strategic mix of in-house staff and consultants we fine tune the team specifically to your project.

Being a lean firm enables us to offer attention and care difficult for larger firms to match. We get to know our clients, they get to know us, and each project matters. Throughout the project, clients work directly with the “A-Team” whether the project is big, small, new, or a renovation.

  • Stough and Stough Architects is a family partnership located in Northwest Ohio for 35+ years. We offer architectural services with the care, expertise, and efficiency you need. We maintain strong relationships with clients and contractors, and we are proud of our extensive record of on-time and on-budget projects. We have been very successful with our approach for projects and encourage you to contact our clients for their recommendation.

Client Experiences

  • Chris - Sylvania, Ohio

The renovation of our Fifth Floor private event room presented many challenges for what first seemed like would be a simple build out. The proximity to neighboring buildings, the change in use designation and upgrades to meet fire safety codes were all issues that needed addressed.

Craig and Lyndsey were able to effectively find solutions to each of these issues and even found unique ways to save us money. For example, to upgrade our sprinkler system, we would've had to increase the size of the water supply pipe, tear up the street, build a riser and greatly disrupt our current business. They were able to work with local building and fire officials to develop a plan for a digital fire system, eliminating major disruption to our business and greatly reducing costs for our renovation.

I am a Community Manager for an Active Adult Community of 602 homes. We are expanding the Clubhouse in order to better suit the social and activity needs of the community while also creating opportunity for supplemental event space rental income. It was important the Board listen to the wants and needs of the residents, and even more important for our design team to interpret and implement the input while staying in budget. Lyndsey Stough checked all those boxes.

The design process has been a wonderful experience, watching these ideas come to life has been exciting for all involved. Lyndsey Stough has been very hands on - presenting design ideas, answering questions, and explaining necessary changes with the Board and residents on multiple occasions. She, along with our chosen Construction Manager, have kept myself and the Board updated consistently through the process so that we, in turn, are able to let the residents know where we are each step of the process.

  • “They are highly collaborative, respectful, and appreciative of the input of all team members and thoughtful about solutions and approach.”
