Join as we explore Main Street's rich history and exciting future by spotting the clues hidden in its buildings, open spaces, and streetscape. During this event Lyndsey will entwine stories of Sylvania’s history with building anatomy and four key architectural styles of historic commercial architecture.

The tour takes place in a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) which means you may enjoy alcoholic beverages from nearby craft breweries and restaurants during the event. Arrive early to purchase drinks before the start time.

 FAQs

  • The tour averages 90 minutes with a midway break, however it can be longer/shorter depending on questions and length of breaks.

  • Many of the tour stops include seating options nearby. This is a walking tour, however, and attendees should be able to safely travel a half mile over the course of 90 minutes.

  • No. Since not everyone wants to drink, this helps keep the costs down for everyone.

    However, because the tour takes place in a designated outdoor drinking area (DORA), those who wish to drink during the tour are welcome to buy from nearby craft breweries and restaurants ahead of the start time or during the mid-tour break. Be sure to ask for drinks to be served in DORA cups.

  • If the 24 hr forecast predicts less than 40% chance of light rain, the tour will continue. If heavy rain and/or unsafe conditions are expected the tour may be cancelled for 75% refund or rescheduled without a fee.

  • Any sized group with 30 attendees or less may book a private tour at the listed price.

    For individuals, couples, and small groups wanting to pay less per person, public tours will be available once or twice a year.

  • Cancellation and rescheduling is based on when requested ahead of the event. Payment processing fees are non-refundable.

    14+ days - full refund, no rescheduling fee

    7+ days - 75% refund if cancelled, or $35 rescheduling fee.

    2+ days - 50% refund if cancelled, or $70 rescheduling fee

    <48 hours - no refund if cancelled, or $100 rescheduling fee
