Sketching is a flexible, quick, and affordable way to not only slow down and appreciate the beauty of a neighborhood, but also study the elements and details of that beauty. Architect, Lyndsey Stough, finds joy in sharing her hometown pride and design passion through immersive experiences suitable for newbies and experts alike.
Join as we learn well-tested and approachable techniques to observe then draw the built environment. Get a taste of Main Street's rich history by spotting the clues hidden in the historic Queen Anne style Chandler Building facade. During this event Lyndsey will lead the group through warm-ups, skill builders, and rules of thumb for fun/fast urban sketching, followed with getting in the field and sketching of one of the key historic commercial architectural styles of Downtown Sylvania.
The class takes place in a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) which means you may enjoy alcoholic beverages from nearby craft breweries and restaurants during the “in-the-field” sketching portion of the event.
For individuals, couples, and small groups wanting to pay less per person, public classes are available once or twice a year. Groups of 20 attendees or less may book a private class year-round. Private classes are perfect for corporate events, board retreats, private parties, reunions, and family gatherings.
